  1. Hi,

I just installed the latest version of Twitme available off the WP site (1.6.5) and I get a couple errors.

When I send a post I get a blank screen that says: some error because of no twitter info. I did input my twitter settings in the settings tab but when I did so, I get a blank screen saying the Twitme settings are saved but when I go back to the setting screen there are no settings - all the input fields are blank.

I also get an error about connecting to phpvrouwen.com when I open the settings page.

    Thanks!

Edit: I did go in and hard-code the info in via the WP edit plugin screen and that has gotten some positive results.

Another edit: I have had the setting screen open for some time now and it is still trying to load Twitmode with nothing yet. BUT - by hard-coding the other stuff I am able to get the plugin to send tweets when I make a post :)

  2. Hi jgramins,

First of all the plugin connects to phpvrouwen.nl but im sure you ment to say that :) . Before 2009 i will release version 2.6.6 wil some patches that you may like.

    Here is a summary:

    • Possible broken links in sending to Twitter (This could be cause by wordpress 2.7 as well ... researching).
    • Sometimes Twitmode only loads and nothing shows up.
    • Reports of loads of autosents where reported
    • The twit-map doesnt work correctly (At least not showing followers and for you you guys ? please give me some feedback)
    • Follow_location in timesurl class
    • Sometimes posts are sent at updating posts on Twitter

can you tell me whinch browser you use ? because IE 6 is not supported with the 1.6 versions higher then 1.6.3 and there is an issue with 1.6.5 with vista and IE7.

xbaez has found a simular bug here http://www.phpvrouwen.nl/forums/topic/wp-251-with-twitme-165 . I would like to thank you for your time for reporting the errors. And it was the password / username you hardcoded right ?

  3. ps next time you dont need to hardcode it when something fails. You can go to the uber hidden option list at /wp-admin/options.php it will show all the hidden options used by plugins (at least in the wp versions 2.x)

  4. .nl...right!

I am on IE7 and Vista. I input all the necessary values in the plugin edit screen and it functions correctly with two exceptions:

    1. In the list of posts sent to Twitter the number is actually less than the number I sent. When I did a "send all" all 4 posts went as expected, but the list shows three - this is minor, but could be confusing to some.

Thanks for the hint on options!
    2. It looks like the items under the "favorites" box on the settings page are non-functional for me in IE7. This includes the map, the link to my Twitter page and the About link. Also, something seems to push the two links up so that the "My Twitter page" is overlayed by the "Twit Map" link (or vice versa) and both are pushed up tight under "140 characters remaining" and there looks like there is a link hidden by the "favorites" box. FYI - I do have a valid Google map key, but I dont have anyone I am following for Twitter to map - maybe that could be hy the map isn't showing?

Both of these are very minor to me, but I figured you'd like to know.

  5. I knew about the map bug and the layout bugs on IE7 with vista that also explains the bugs where you could not save your data to the website (Its sent over using javascript (Client side)). You said it displayed 3 items submited to Twitter but how much should it be in your case ?. Oh sorry 4 well thats a simple fix of changing sizeof to count($aSubmitted) for me to patch it.

I will make sure you can use the plugin in a good manner before 2009. So keep posted :) PS you could also install chrome / firefox to see the twitme plugin render the correct way.

  6. Wow - thanks for the super-quick responses!

I'll let things sit as they are for now since its not hurting the functionality of anything and spend my efforts on trying to figure out why my jQuery scripts won't fire in my theme. :/
