Every one is looking forward to Twitme 1.7 because of the social features it will bring to the blogging community but i am going to announce one more new feature in the 1.6 series. I like to browse Twitter for impressions about the Twitme plugin (via this url). While browsing this page i have found out that some blogs use rss feeds to import posts from other blogs, The downside of using Twitme on those blogs is that it could lead to 100 tweets on Twitter in 5 minutes. This and a post on the support forum made me think of adding an option omit given category`s from being posted onto Twitter.

Also Twitme 1.6.8 will fix bugs that are related to blank pages on the Twitme main page.  You will see that Twitme 1.6.8 will be released within a few days from now.

Hello  all im calling out to all of you out there with a social network running buddypress to try out the new version of Twitme. This version will be the beta version of Twitme 1.7 i know you all love Twitme so why don’t give it a try?.

Together with all of your users and different networks we can speed up the development of Twitme 1.7. This version is now ready to be released in Q2 o 2009 but if we test it all to gather we can speed that up to a few weeks from now. So who ever wants to test Twitme on a wordpress MU install with buddypress your welcome to enter the contact form here.

Not only i ask for buddypress networks but also i call out to normal wordpress users to test the plug in. I first want get make sure it will run on both networks before i will add extra features like i mention here. The new features themselves don’t need long to be implanted but i want to make sure we have something stable before. With only 4 networks helping me out we can release Twitme 1.7 in 2 weeks from now instead of 4 months so who`s up to it ?….
